Suggested Improvements — Week 2: The Mirror

Questions for Personalization

  • What did your first transcript sound like when you heard it back?
  • What sentence surprised you most on the page?
  • Where did you feel embarrassed while reading?
  • What theme kept appearing that you did not plan?
  • What did you avoid saying in the first week that showed up in week two?

Suggested Improvements

  • Add a contrast exercise: read the transcript to someone else vs reading it alone. Note the difference in your body.
  • Expand the log to include one physical reaction marker (flush, stomach drop, clenched jaw).
  • Add a short section on The Censor’s favorite disguises: boredom, irony, self-deprecation.

“The Vicomte, red in the face, was standing in front of the big mirror nervously twitching his moustache… ‘You have a very nasty tongue!’… He turned round immediately to examine his tongue in the mirror—the ugly, coated tongue of the inveterate smoker.”
